The Mediterranean climate keeps the Costa Dorada’s winters cool and summers warm and dry, and is complemented by the shelter offered by the region’s statuesque mountains.  There are also some of the finest golden sand in Europe to be found, where the sea is both far warmer and clearer than those you will ever find back home.

As well as the 150 miles of beautiful honey-coloured beaches, the Costa Dorada is scattershot with gorgeous traditional towns and villages, overflowing with trendy bars and energetic nightclubs, and accompanied by some of Spain’s best vineyards and olive groves.

Days out in the Costa Dorada are numerous, with the Sagrada Familia temple impressing all with Antoni Gaudi’s stunning architecture, the Picasso Museum offering some artistic culture to visit, and the Camp Nou football stadium allowing holiday makers to tour the arena or maybe even enjoy an exciting match (though anyone wishing to purchase a ticket for the wheelchair adapted area must be sure to book ahead). 

Barcelona is one of the shopping capitals of Europe, and allows tourists to wander through the chic city expanses of department stores and designer shops, as well as the more unique street stalls and one-off boutiques where many of the shopping area’s most exciting discoveries are likely to be found.  Barcelona city truly is a stylish and cosmopolitan place, and no accessible trip to the Costa Dorada is complete without a trip through its impressive streets.

Dotted along the coast you will find sleepy fishing villages and stretches of awe-inspiring natural beauty nestling comfortably behind the Costa Dorada’s renowned beaches.  Sitges has white houses and narrow lanes that provide relief from the Spanish sun, and Tarragona offers a banquet of historical sights, from the beautiful Gothic cathedral through to various Roman remains that include a circus, forum and amphitheatre.
